Pandemic Statement

Without stating the obvious, the Pandemic touched everyone’s lives positively, negatively or both. For many, they either waited for ‘something to happen and spent time just hanging around’, or they spent the time being productive and doing something to fine-tune their current skills or learn new ones so that when the Pandemic’s dust settles, they will be ready to effectively compete in the economic marketplace.

Besides maintaining my responsibilities to my 90-year-old mother, I embraced the reflective time and opportunity to grow, expand and fine-tune my skills by:

  • Producing and expanding the level and quality of my written content (Ghost writing focus);

  • Creating video and sound knowledge and skills (for specific projects);

  • Expanding PowerPoint and Excel skills (for business, classroom or home presentations);

  • Learning presentation ‘tools’, including Zoom and Facebook broadcasts (Online Education);

  • Creating and implementing promotional strategy (helping friends keep their business alive);

  • Designing Websites, including messaging, storyboards and functionality (Skill expansion);

  • Reading, learning and understanding WordPress and related ‘code’ (Skill expansion);

  • Expanding Facebook Group members (Astronomy News Library & Positive Affirmations & Quotations);

  • Reworking lesson plans (as the world changes, so do educational class plans);

  • Reading, Reading and, yes – more READING (Articles, Data, Manuals, News, Reports and Textbooks – the goal was 125 pages per day);

Finally, because I have worked hard to keep my mind sharp, focused and exceptionally creative, I am financially stable, mentally positive, inoculated, able to travel, and anxious to roll up my sleeves and use what I have learned during this very difficult time.
